The challenges and stakes of R&D

Epur Nature is committed to the design, improvement and optimisation of new solutions that fulfil current and future environmental and economic requirements.

Innovations

Examples of innovations:

Optimisation of reed bed filter yields (especially on total nitrogen and phosphorus) through special projects developed with

Cemagref  or the Nantes École des mines, among others :

BiHo-filter process: for treating total nitrogen on two piled-up vertical filters

  • Use of specific materials for phosphorus removal like steel slag (see the SLASORB project
  • Compact installation: Bi-filtre, the BiHo-filtre, saturated vertical upward flow, Combipur
  • Treatment of rainwaters and overflow from storm spillways (see site internet d'ANR SEGTEUP)
  • Adaptation of the solution to tropical climates (French overseas departments and territories, developing countries, etc.)

The research projects

As a specialised reed bed filter (FPR) constructor, Epur Nature participates in the research consortium serving the SEGTEUP (system to manage and treat urban rainwaters) program by sizing the future treatment units for rainwaters and storm spillways.

Our input: cons truction of semi-industrial and full size pilot installations (see photo to the left).

Trademarks and patents deposited:

  • Bi-filtre planté® (Patent no. 042931295): compact structure with two piled up stages
  • AutoEpure® (Patent no. 0757890) : sector adapted to individual on-site sanitation requirements
  • Fossé filtrant (planted filtering ditch) (Patent no. 00852324) : final treatment at outlet of planted filter bed
  • Claripur (Patent no. 0852320) : compact filtering equipment.
